Thought Of The Day

How much do we know? If there's just one crucial thing that we do not know, it could undermine the integrity of much that we currently understand. The trouble with things that we don't know is that, more often than not, we don't know we don't know them. We only find out when we make a discovery. All I'm trying to say is that there always seems to be some confusion. There is missing or misleading information - and, until more has come to light, we would be better off doing less. Try not to form an opinion. Bide our time and keep your options open.

Thought Of The Day

Ask as many people as we wish to. Make as many emphatic statements as we like. None of this will make us any wiser. We try to understand an emotion with our intellect. This is like trying to taste an orange by holding it up to our ear. We are using the wrong tool for the job. Can we conclude that the orange has no taste, just because our ear cannot hear it? Well then, how can we decide that our feeling has no relevance, just because our inner computer cannot comfortably explain it? We need to honour and respect our deepest emotions.

Thought Of The Day

It's easy to be strong. We just have to lose our fear of seeming weak. When we dwell too long on our social standing, we become disempowered. By caring too much about how we may be judged, we grow dependent on approval and applause. The integrity of our individuality is compromised. We must, of course, be aware of people's feelings - and sensitive to them. Weakness that stems from a desire to avoid doing harm, is strength. Strength shown out of a desire to look good - is weakness!

Thought of the Day

There are some things we can never know, some questions we can never answer and some situations we can never understand. It doesn't matter whether we're scientists or philosophers, mystics or psychics, the insights we yearn for will elude us all, equally. So, should we all just give up now because we will never attain enlightenment? We cannot help but feel a little sad about something that we seem to have lost. Just need to be glad that we ever had it at all. And don't be so sure that we know what the future holds.

Wonder what Mark is showing the Red Bull Team? A video of him hounding Vettel's rear in the British GP ;-)

TOTD

They say that you should not push your luck. What do they know? Luck is like a wheelbarrow. It was made to be pushed! If you leave your luck just lying around the building site of existence, and refuse to load it up and then trundle it along towards the future, you will waste its potential entirely. Nothing will ever get constructed. If you go a little too far? Then the worst you will have to do is turn around and come back again.

TOTD

Imagine being starving hungry. Now imagine being offered a choice. A gigantic candy bar? Or a nutritious, delicious meal? There is just one catch. The good food won't be ready for a while - and you'll have to travel much further to get it. And remember, it is a choice. One or the other. Now, what are you going to go for? Hmmm, I wonder. Some easy options are hard to resist. Worse, once we get into the habit of taking them, we find ourselves forgetting all about the better solutions. It not easy to do what's right, but it will be possible and infinitely preferable.
